Research Post

     My research topic is on Queen Hatshepsut achievements during her reign. Queen Hatshepsut was one of the seven women to rule Egypt as a female pharaoh. Queen Hatshepsut made Egyptian history impressive, by being the most successful female pharaoh to rule. She brought prosperity, peace, great art and great monuments to her kingdom. Though, what made her rule so successful were her building projects. Queen Hatshepsut built quite a few monuments such as the Karnak Temple and her remarkable mortuary temple. The mortuary temple called the Deir el-Bahri is her most famous building projects. The Deir el- Bahri contains major events that had happened during Hatshepsut life. One event that I find monumental is the Expedition to Punt. This expedition was ordered from Queen Hatshepsut. The main point of this expedition was for trading. Dear 10 year old's

     Dear 10 year old's, enjoy being a kid. Nowadays in our generation we have technology to keep us busy. We have Netflix, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and much more! Though instead of staying inside. Go outside and enjoy what the World has to give us! When I was 10 I remember having play- dates, sleepovers, going to the park, and even playing with barbies! Time flies and by the time you turn a teenager, your expected to at least "mature."      If your 10, enjoy your life from the fullest. Once you get into middle school some things will change. Therefore, enjoy what you have now. Don't worry if kids in your grade act "too cool" for their age. You always have your family to be your friends. Trust me they will be always have your back. Go to the park, go to the fairs, go everywhere! The more you get older, the more work you will have. Enjoy being that wild, funny, energetic kid, and be yourself! Sincerely, A 14 year old

Lord of the Flies

     The book Lord of the Flies is an interesting story. The plot and the details of this book are very much vividly given. What I enjoy about this book so far is the characteristics of the characters, and what their view of the "beast" is. Such as Simon, Simon is known for the book to be "strange" and "shy," and his belief of the beast are odd as well. Simon believes that mankind is the beast, on page eighty-nine he states "maybe it's only us." This belief gives us an idea that maybe the beast is only in the imagination of the boys. Another character that I find interesting is Piggy. Piggy is known to be that character that no one takes seriously. His asthma and his ideas make all the boys in the book irritated of him. Piggy's view of the beast is peculiar as well. He does not believe in the beast but is afraid of people. On the page, eighty-four Piggy says "unless we are frightened of people."
